Why this exists

A lot of outdoor gear is made by a handful of manufacturers, then sold under a dozen different labels at wildly different prices. The gap between those prices is rarely about the product. It's about who paid for a sponsorship, a shelf, or an ad.

Dupe Outdoors sells that gear without the label on top. That's the whole idea, and we'd rather explain it plainly than dress it up as something more sophisticated than it is.

How we operate

• Shipping is free, always. No minimum, no threshold, nothing added at the last step. The price on the card is the price you pay.
• We show the arithmetic. Our How It Works page breaks a real product down to the cent — what it costs us, what shipping costs, what we make.
• We price against reality, not fiction. No invented "was" prices. If something is cheaper on Amazon, we would rather not stock it than ask you to overpay.
• We name names. When we compare to a brand, we say exactly which product, cite the source of its price, and point out where it beats ours.
• We tell you the downsides. Shipping is slow because it comes from the manufacturer. We say so before you buy, not after.
